"Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance, and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes upon Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." (HEBREWS 12:1-2).

1-6 Light in Me

Stefania
Speechless. I hope I love my own kids this much one day.
English class in the church

Pinata for stefania's birthday

Hello there. Its been a while since I have written an update because life is wild and I dont even know what to really write. I went home to NC for 12 days, tried to catch up with my family and friends and mentally prepare for the 5 months that I would return to Honduras and serve. I then flew to El salvador to see Gio, Daniel and Lidia and many other friends in San Miguel.
I love it there, but gosh so many moms and dads are needed there! If I had to estimate, probably 50% of the kids live with someone besides their biological mother or father, including grandparents, aunts etc... 3 little girls, one of whom is in the top picture, live with their little brother and grandmother in a tiny broken in house and were just full of love and joy.
I did a basic English class in the church that we built for 15-20 kids between the ages of 3 and 15 for two of the days I was there, and it was quite fulfilling.
On tuesday I returned to Honduras, immediately got back into the routine of futbol, ramen noodles and grilled cheese. Yesterday we started back classes and it is very different now to be down here in this experience alone. Even though its hard, it is incredibly fulfilling and I know without a doubt I am meant to be here. I just hope I can do as much good and serve as many people as I can along the way while growing in my own life and figuring out what I really want out of life. My spanish is pretty good now and I will definitely be fluent by the time I leave in June.
I turn 24 on Wednesday and although birthdays arent a big deal to me, Its weird to not have anyone here to share it with besides my 18 amazing 6th graders. Please keep me in your prayers and remember that we have God to thank for everything we have been given in life and He should always be at the center of whatever we do.
