As you wish 1-27

Hey there. I have been in Naples this week visiting my roomate from college, Robert B.
Although he has a 8-5, I have been fully capitalizing on my time here, taking his car to the beach and around town everyday. I have put a few various pictures of the beach, the sunset, a picture of the Naples Pier sign at night, and one of my ipod player and bookbag on the sand :)
I must tell you that if you ever come to Naples, please go to the Pier downtown, because it is seriously one of my favorite places in the entire world....I wish I had a picture to do it justice, maybe ill add one later if I get one. Yeah but its just one of those places that makes you feel blessed to be alive and absolutely sure of God's presence.....
So this week I have randomly been listening to the song from the Princess Bride haha, well there are two but only one is available on playlist.com so that is the one I will use. The other one can be found on Itunes...it is the instrumental one.
This is my favorite song right now....The music video gives me chills
5. Catholic Classics - Here I am Lord http://www.playlist.com/searchbeta/tracks#here%20i%20am%2C%20lord
One of my all time favorite Hymns, I rediscovered it in Mass today....what an amazing worship song. It epitomizes humility, servitude and trust.
Hope you Enjoy

1-20 Sway

Its Midnight and Im looking out my window at the first snow of this year. I am pretty excited to go sledding tomorrow because we have these amazing hills near my house which are absolutely perfect. The peace and quiet of the country is really nice especially on a night like tonight, the stars are extremely clear and its so quiet. Hmm why am I going on a "scenic rant" right now? who knows. Anyways, Im going to Naples this week to chill with R.B. and go to the beach for some needed contemplation. I'm pretty excited. Then after that I havent decided so Ill see what happens haha.
I have so much new music that I cant seem to listen to half of it. I am spewing off money on Itunes like you wouldnt believe, but Its worth it as long as I am getting the word out about unknown bands to people like you....right? I picked 5 this week and decided to elaborated a bit on each one. I dont often do this because I think everyone can listen to a song and find their own meaning, relation and interpretation so I dont like to create a bias I guess.
The top picture is self explanatory and I guess I just put it up because I have been playing quite a bit. The second is one of my porch covered in snow, and the bottom is one of the Furman Belltower from across the lake....very random I know.
Hope you are having a great week and get some time to listen to these:

This peaceful song talks about a tough relationship turned friendship and where they should go in the future. I love the line, "Ive had my head among the clouds, now that I'm coming down, will You be my solid ground?," because I find it to be really sincere. I think he is trying to tell this girl that he doesnt objectify her or have a shallow liking of her, but instead values her as a companion and a source of trust. This song is off the Perishers second cd, they are an amazing new alternative band from Sweden. Buy their cd, trust me.

2. Cary Brothers - The Glass Parade
I saw the Cary Brothers last summer when they opened for the Fray. I didnt like them at the time but that is only because I didnt give them a chance. This song, The Glass Parade, although somewhat depressing is incredibly inspirational to me. "This is a glass parade, A fragile state and I am trying not to break. And the stars are shining, the moon is rising and I would kill to be with You tonight," symbolizes his attempts to remain strong and hold his chin up, although he is undoubtably shattered.
It starts off kinda slow and mellow, but it picks up a bit and really tells a story, so please give it a chance.

This song is clearly way more upbeat haha. This is such a feel-good hang out song, so I thought it would balance well with the other two more serious and deep ones above....I think the theme of this song is freedom and being spontaneous, and although It talks about of behavior that is not agreeable to me, I think it is a fun and catchy jam.

Leslie Roy, is a new and upcoming artist from Ireland. I havent heard much of her stuff but this song is actually on the radio right now and although its not what I typically listen to, I really enjoy it. It seems to be really heartfelt and passionate, as she talks about wanting to be loved and feel beautiful...I think this is something that many girls struggle with, and unfortunately in our society, allow this insecurity to manifest itself in random hookups and self disrespect....
The remedy to this is truly God's love and although it is not easy to realize, especially with our twisted society and its pressures, it is the only thing that will truly quench this thirst for contentment and self worth.

Thanks to M.T. for this song. It is very optimistic and really reminds me of the beauty of nature and how we fit in to our complex world....Umm yeah I dont know if that has anything at all to do with the lyrics haha but thats just how it hits me, dunno why, "Larger than Lifesize we become."

Hope you enjoy these songs and my brief thoughts on these songs.
God Bless

1-13 Stand where you are, We let all these moments pass us by

Hello there. I left the Bahamas on Saturday and it was a nice vacation. Fortunately, everything was paid for because all food and drinks are like 2-3 times the price as in the states.....
I took a picture of Atlantis as I was leaving and from the plane and have posted them above.
The Imitation of Christ is an incredible book which one of my friends sent me a few months ago and have posted a picture of that as well. I guess I just post pictures and songs that are on my mind and that occupy a lot of my time.....
Yeah so I am wondering whats next. Job applications are likely gonna be my new hobby haha.
I am thinking about trying to work for a Christian radio station or hopefully the Itunes music store. The whole economics/finance thing is on hold, at least for a while....well unless something awesome comes up.
Im not one to talk much about politics and such but there is one issue that is incredibly important and that has been on my mind. That issue is the Freedom Of Choice Act or FOCA, which has been proposed and pushed by Obama and company. Its refreshing to see several of my friends on facebook trying to spread the word about this proposed atrocity which would call for every hospital and medical clinic to provide abortions, even those which are morally opposed. The concept of the government forcing medical centers to murder babies is one that even the politically apathetic like myself need to be extremely concerned about....

1. Vega4 - Life is Beautiful
Sitting in the Royal Lobby at the Atlantis eating breakfast, this incredibly inspirational song came on the overhead speakers. I instantly grabbed a pen and a napkin nearby and franticly wrote as many lyrics down as possible and then went up to my room to find and download it.
Trust me....You need to hear it
2. Ingrid Michaelson - Breakable

3. Michael Buble - Lost

4. Switchfoot - Shadow proves the Sunshine
5. Matt Nathanson - To the beat of our noisy hearts
God Bless

1-6 New Year

Hi there readers and listeners. I am on Vacation in the Bahamas this week because I won a free trip online. I am staying at the Atlantis Resort and I posted some pictures above. Its 80 degrees out and the beach is amazing. I have a lot of time to reflect and think, and brought some good books and music with me.

The four songs I chose this week are kinda random. The first is one of my favorite Christian songs and the chorus is so inspirational to me. The second is an old song by a real popular band, DCFC who im not crazy about, but given the time in the year, i thought it was fitting. The third is a really cool song that a good friend sent me recently and I really love the vocals and think there is a lot of passion and depth in this song. The last is an amazing song that deals making the right decision vs the easiest one, and I think it is absolutely incredible. I really hope you give these a listen, and if you feel like it, let me know what you think.

1. Kutless - Mistakes

3. Sometime around midnight - The Airborne Toxic Event
