11-25 - Let it Shine

Hi there, music listeners. I am back home in the South and enjoyed a nice hike to the river with my sister yesterday from which these pictures come. I also watched the Jets slaughter the then undefeated Titans yesterday which was quite amazing. I have pretty much been listening to two songs(1 and 2) this week so I am gonna stress that NO MATTER WHAT, you listen to them attentively haha. They are so ridiculously good......
1. Plain White T's - Shine
"You say youre looking for happiness, but when it comes you run away from it.
You tell yourself you dont deserve it."
2. The Fray - You Found me
"You Found Me is a tough song for me. Its about the disappointment, the heart ache, the let down that comes with life. Sometimes you're let down, sometimes you're the one who lets someone else down. It gets hard to know who you can trust, who you can count on. This song came out of a tough time, and I'm still right in the thick of it. There's some difficult circumstances my family and friends have been going through over the past year or so and can be overwhelming. It wears on me. It demands so much of my faith to keep believing, keep hoping in the unseen. Sometimes the tunnel has a light at the end, but usually they just look black as night. This song is about that feeling, and the hope that I still have, buried deep in my chest."
- Isaac
3. +44 - Make you smile
"If I could, Id only wanna make you smile"

On another note, What is greater 80 or Infinity???
80 = our avg worldy lifespan
infinity = what we can share for eternity with Jesus if we put him first during the 80.....
A missionary priest from Honduras visited my church this week and this is how he began his very inspirational homily to our parish about truly giving all of our will and ourselves to God and wholeheartedly trusting in his provision. He elaborated on the point that Jesus is the door to salvation and it is our choice to enter. In Revelation that door is opened, i.e. Jesus is allowing his true followers to come into Heaven to share eternal glory with him......
Hope you enjoyed reading my blog.
God Bless

11-18 Goodbye Boston

I am sitting in my hotel room on the way back from Boston and thinking of the great experience I had. It was not the place for me but It taught me a lot about the education system, nonprofits, people from different backgrounds and experiences and a lot about myself at the same time.
I have no regrets, but I am relieved to coming back South and to figure out the next chapter.

1. Secondhand Serenade - Goodbye
(sad but amazing song, may be a bit emo for some of you haha)

2. Ben Jelen - Wreckage

3. Anberlin - Breaking

4. Colbie Caillat - Older

5. Michelle Branch - Tuesday Morning

6. Coldplay - Swallowed in the sea
(Dedicated to Caleb R.)

Hope you Enjoy!
God Bless

Worth and Development, an interesting analogy

A priest shared this piece of wisdom in Mass today and I wanted to share it with you:

A certain measured block of iron is worth $5.00

That same amount turned welded into a horseshoe is worth $50.00

The same amount used as medical needles is worth $500.00

And finally that same amount used as balances for swiss watches is worth $5000.00

Now I know this is totally random and you are wondering why I am sharing it, but it struck me, by drawing an analogy to our spiritual gifts and how we can utilize each and every one of them in our spiritual development, as we pursue God's will in our lives. While we are all given gifts that are manifested in our character and personality, it is not just what we are given by God, but what we do with what we are given, that determines who we truly are as spiritual beings.
While God values us all equally as his children, it is interesting to point out that we, through both our faith and action, (i.e. spiritual development) choose our path and our spiritual worth.
